Have questions or concerns about our services? Interested but would like to know more detail? We are happy to provide answers. Here are some commonly asked questions:
- Is my work safe?
- Absolutely! We provide a “Work for Hire” contract which outlines our working agreement and protects your intellectual property. Here’s an example.
- Who will be working on my manuscript?
- Unlike some similar editorial and writing services, we guarantee that Don, Jak or Bridget will perform the desired service for you. We do not subcontract out any of our critiques or evaluations, nor do we hire other ghostwriters to do work for us. You will know who is working on your manuscript and will be in contact during the entire process. We will use all of our expertise to help you craft the finest thriller possible.
- Do you accept payment by credit card?
- Yes. We prefer payment by check or money order, but we are set up to accept credit card payments through BidPay (instructions).
- Do you work with agents?
- We do occassionally recommend a client to an agent if we believe the manuscript is ready for publication. And we have edited manuscripts by agented authors. However, we do not have a standing agreement with any agents, and we recommend against using agents who charge reading fees.
- If you work on my manuscript, will it sell?
- We will help you improve the professionalism and marketability of your novel, and therefore its chances of selling. However, we cannot guarantee that after working with us you will either get an agent or be offered a publishing contract. The vagaries of publishing are such that no freelance editor or book doctor can legitimately make such promises.
