ghostwriting

Writing is a skill, like carpentry or architecture. If you had a concept for how your house should look, would you design and build it yourself? Not a chance; you’d hire an architect and a contractor.

Writing professional-quality fiction is not something which anyone can just sit down and do. It takes years of training and hundreds of thousands of words of practice writing. (This is why almost half of all traditionally published books are worked on by a ghostwriter or book doctor.)

Our three-step ghostwriting process:

  1. You submit your idea, outline, and/or partial manuscript.
  2. One of us evaluates it and discusses with you the scope of the project, including:
    1. the structure, size and marketability of the finished novel
    2. the steps required to get the novel into a completed form (re-outlining, first draft, evaluation, revision, etc.)
  3. We work with you to write and revise the novel, transforming your original idea, notes, or manuscript into a marketable product.

Ghostwriting is time-consuming, and can get rather expensive, but it’s often the best option for busy professionals. We charge by the hour ($50 per) or a flat monthly rate, depending on the amount of work involved. After we’ve discussed the scope of the project, we will give you a rough estimate of the costs and time involved, and will reserve time in our schedule for writing your manuscript.
